The Police in Kano State have dismissed Inspector Muhammad Dantalle, who was demoted to the rank of sergeant, following the alleged kidnap and rape of a 16-year-old girl.
His accomplices, Yusuf Ibrahim and Salisu Mahmud, both constables, had been dismissed earlier.
Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar said Dantalle was subjected to ‘Orderly Room’ trial and the victim testified against him.
Abubakar said Dantalle was found guilty and dismissed.
He said the dismissed officers embarrassed the Force and would be charged to court.
The victim was kidnapped by the three officers on her way home. She was camped for 28 days and raped.
They invited others to rape the victim in exchange for money.
Abubakar said the police must protect the citizens, assuring that bad eggs would be weeded out.
